Outdoor Lighting Update with Melissa Laprade

There are lots of way to boost your home’s curb appeal–buying new plants, painting, getting a new welcome mat… Great outdoor lighting is another key to creating a home that looks fantastic at first sight, whether you’re looking to sell or planning to stay for years.

In the world of outdoor lighting, traditional style fixtures are especially popular. That’s because they have an iconic lantern-inspired style, they usually come in dark finishes that go well with a wide variety of paint colors and their look flatters homes of many different architectural styles.

Blogger, influencer and fellow Georgian Melissa Laprade recently purchased a home in her parents’ neighborhood. She loves the area and the fact that the grandparents are close by! But what she didn’t love was the salmon-orange color of the brick outside her house, so she painted it white and paired that with black shutters and trim to match the style she’s always loved.

Once that was all done, she also wanted new lights to go well with this classic white-and-black look and reached out to us. We sent her a pair of Savoy House Ellijay outdoor wall lanterns in black. With a classically-styled shape featuring a shepherd’s hook arm and gas lantern inspiration, plus that goes-with-anything black finish, Ellijay is a perfect choice for brightening up your great outdoors.

Here’s how they look at Melissa’s front door!
